On The Developmental Front

Solomon rolls from tummy to back fairly regularly. He doesn't make it back to tummy yet, but is halfway there. His favorite sleeping position is now lying on his side. The trouble with this however, is that the binky falls out rather easily. It's just as well. We've come to the conclusion that he has to get to sleep without it. In doing so, I feel like both a hypocrite and a barbarian. After several nights of 6+ wakings, all before 1:30a, we dialed up the pediatrician and begged for help. As it turns out, we're electing an option that involves crying. We're just through the first hurdle of increasing intervals of comfort, which resulted in about an hour of screaming. I hated it. The rest of the night only included a short 10 minute stint and another half hour of wails, so maybe it won't be so bad. Yeah, right. Solomon's just starting to reach for items that interest him. He doesn't hold on to much, other than blankey and Mommy's hair, unless you actively put the object into his hand. And he talks up a storm. We may not understand what he's actually saying, but it's most certainly happy talk. His new noise is a chortle - a kind of coughing laugh. It's a hoot.

Solomon sure looks like he is very happy and thriving. On the night problem, this too shall pass. I know it doesn't seem like it now, but it will probably just take a couple of nights. I love all the pics of your outings. That little guy gets out a lot more than I do!! I know it will be hard to top the "purple plaid shorts story", but we sure are enjoying all of Solomon's adventures. Love to all. Hope to get up your way soon. Will call next week.
