Growing Peas
Last weekend Solomon sat in his Jeep under the tree while I weeded, spread compost, and turned the garden. The sugar snap peas were already about 3-4 inches above ground. I was in mid-construction of an ersatz trellis for the peas when Solomon got hungry. We took an hour break, then I went back to the garden on my own. A few of the peas had actually grown while I was gone, their tendrils wrapped around the twine and stakes. I couldn’t have invented a better metaphor. My little Sweet Pea went to the doc yesterday for a three-month check up. Solomon weighs 13 pounds, 6 ounces and is 23.5 inches long. He’s holding steady in the 50th percentile for weight and the 25th for height (a future wrestler?). For being an early arrival, I think we’re lucky he’s on the chart at all. Solomon has outgrown some clothes, his bassinet, and cuddling skin to skin on my chest. I imagine this is just the start of such bittersweet milestones.

Love the dialog and you, Scott and your boy.
It sounds like Solomon is doing just fine. I love those cheeks!
Love from Grandma and Grandpa.
