Superstitious
After surviving a difficult night a few days ago, I find myself afraid to deviate from the routine of the first following night that went better. In fact, whenever anything goes well, I compulsively try to do everything leading up to the goodness in an effort to repeat it. Same music, same play time, same nap style...Talk about a recipe for failure. It’s tricky to put a scientific study together with so many variables. To top that off, I'm reluctant to even discuss any success for fear of jinxing it. Funny how irrational being a Mommy can make me. There's really not much to report, especially when I'm not ready to give any details of bedtime. Solomon received a presidential welcome from George W in the mail. Even though I’m not this president’s biggest fan, it was fun to open. You think they might have included a photo, though. Nash Bridges wasn't on today. Instead, it was a marathon day of Walker, Texas Ranger. You can bet that I checked my watch twice, just to make sure that I hadn't misplaced an hour. We watched the last half of Price is Right as an alternate. We then went on the road. First we had to pick up some balsamic vinegar because I'm certainly not going to eat raw spinach without it. I tried yesterday and managed to choke down half a salad before I quit and ate a bowl of cereal for lunch instead. Then we stopped by to see Daddy in his classroom. The 7th grade girls were almost more excited than Daddy to see The Boy.
Since it's Tuesday, I had to go work for a bit this evening. Solomon was an angel for Daddy, eating a whole bottle without complaint. He was even awake and happy when I got home.
One other quick note: Just so we're clear, when I refer to kaka, I do not mean the Brazilian footballer.
