I think by now the proverbial cat is out of the proverbial bag regarding Solo's Ma and her job. Instead of the maximum security boys' prison, Mommy is now working second shift in the emergency room. Inasmuch as Mommy is required to work outside the home at all, this seems to be an excellent choice. There are some drawbacks to staying at work until midnight, but I've had (unwanted) experience in sleep deprivation. All the same, a paycheck isn't quite as compelling as The Boy as far as incentives for staying awake go.
